Sodalite

Most known for its rich royal blues also comes in a variety of other colors, even clear! One of the most fascinating aspects of Sodalite is its potential for tenebrescence which it where the stone will darken when exposed to ultra violet light and begin to fade back when left in shade. It is extremely difficult to find “eye clean” gem quality Sodalite so its typically opaque or completely dense and is often mixed with other minerals , kind of like Lapis Lazzuli and you will get interesting gems with various colors or inclusions. Sodalites formation is interesting because it forms in low silica magma when it begins to cool over thousands of years, most magma is rich in silica so its quite a unique stone
