Malachite Specimen

Malachite is one of those crystals that is completely unmistakable looking like green versions of chicken of the woods mushrooms. Malachite is actually a by product of the chemical reaction Azurite undergoes. Azurite is somewhat of an unstable mineral and as it is exposed to water and air it causes a chemical reaction where it becomes malachite in those areas. Prolonged handling of malachite is toxic due to copper poisoning tho the risk is low from touch alone. It is one of the most faked gems out there so always buy from a trusted source!
