Hackmanite

Hackmanite is a rare mineral in the Sodalite family that is found in lovely gentle light to medium shades of lilac and lavender purples, rarely are they dark in natural state. It’s most known for its intense tenebresence, when exposed to ultra violet light it with first fluoresce a vibrant pinkish orange color which will darken the stone to a deep purple, however unlike something like a sapphire which would cause permanent darkening, Hackmanite will slowly fade back to its original light color within a few hours to a few days depending on length of exposure. This happens due to its sulfur rich composition which is absorbs the UV and re-emits as light.
