Coprolite

Coprolite is actually fossilized dinosaur feces! It can be from other ancient animals as well. Don’t worry a fossil is when a mineral replaces the material that was there before so it does not smell or have original material, its been replaced by minerals like calcium phosphate in the shape that it was, think of it like making a mold of something. The vast majority is found in North America but they can be found on practically every continent and are estimate to be anywhere from 66 million to 540 million years old. Depending on the shape and region Coprolite was found it can teach Paleontologists a lot about ancient animal diets and how they survived. These fossils are highly sought after!
