Chrysoberyl

As the name suggests Chrysoberyl is related to Beryl but still its own distinct species, Its more like a distant cousin to Beryl then a direct sibling. Beryl is a berylium aluminum silicate mineral while Chrysoberyl is a berylium aluminum oxide. Beryl makes up gems like Aquamarine and Emerald while Chrysoberyl makes up gems like Alexandrite which is just another color variety of Chrysoberyl. Chrysoberyl is often know for its unique optical properties like the color changing ability of Alexandrite and sometimes cats eye affect in other varieties.
